Poetry: Dear Friend....


Dear Friend,
I've been startled by your generous action,
Puzzled by your dedicated passion,
Who ever thought that a real stranger,
Could be the best friend ever?
Who ever thought the most kind  deed,
Would ever be of the sweetest kind?

For a friend being awake?
Isn't that priceless than risk?
Or is there a better definition?
Or is destiny close to destination?
How on earth could one be ever forgotten?
When favor and consideration have been given?

The short journey has been lengthened by tension,
Made lovely by hope and anticipation,
There have been heartaches,
Anxiety and roaming abandonments,
But new friendship has conquered,
A foundation of faith and trust have been established.

In spite of some few lies at the start,
And in spite of some abandonment at some point,
I have credited you to be a good person,
I will forever be indebted to you for your gifted action.
I apologize for any wrong done,
But I thank God your heart is not hard as stone.

Whether we win or not,
Hoping judges will not be corrupt,
Since in Kenya you expect anything,
Far from target, but close to doubtful happening,
We have a lot that we owe you,
ALL WE CAN SAY IS THANK YOU.

Slaves It is because you don’t see me, You don’t value me, I try to see, But your wrath blinds me, I cry for help from up above, But your supremacy and authority chain me, My children are hungry and almost to die, But you have taken away my wife, You have made their nurse a sex slave, I’m around just waiting for the next stage, The separation of my children when my smile shall fade. Dave waited to see how the public would receive the outcome of the tally. He knew that if anyone were the first to react, they would be from the city, the aggrieved, the determined for a revolution, the Daves.
