Poetry: JAVA

JAVA . 'We all say we're 'Nairobians' Outside the build she said to the soldiers, Thanking them for help with the directions, N' to Java she strolled, someone was waiting. It had been long, To remember the face behind the voice so strong, So elegant a place she had to belong, Looking around for Mr. Peter was like being lost in a fog. Finally, he came in sight, Eye catching, serious n' eloquent, Promising n' ready to act, That he gave her a challenge on promise keeping n' thanks to him, she learnt.

Poetry: KENYA is dating Mr. DEVIL

KENYA is dating Mr. DEVIL She was once an innocent country, So young untouched and saved from our fathers cry, We had good neighbors and strangers were friends, But today all friends are strangers, But the DEVIL has touched her heart, She is currently weighing her options to court, The courtship is a thing most likely she will consider, Because her dreams with him are no longer a wonder, She has seen the DEVIL on some occasions, She has gone on dates and some adventures, She is currently experiencing the fruits of her actions, But it seems she is so excited, The outcomes are leaving her more thrilled, Their relationship is getting serious, Where is the cry of the believers? KENYA is a rotten nation, It was never in anyone’s imagination, All forms of filth and pollution, We are raising an ‘at-risk-generation’, The morals have been eroded, People are finding pleasure in the wild, The humans have lost control of their mind, It’s embarras...

Poetry: A WOMAN......a mini 'god'

A woman…a mini ‘god’ God looked at his creation, He looked at the river and the mountain, The forest and the ocean, The beauty of his imagination, He was happy there was life beyond the heaven, He needed a special creation. It had to be very beautiful, He started his analysis with immense careful, The river was swift and dreadful, The mountain still and frightful, The forest quiet and deceitful, The wind unpredictable and stressful. He proceeded to the living things, He needed a creation to trust over other things, The animals were beautiful, but uncooperative creatures, The birds were pretty but tiny for his tasks, The dog was loyal but questionable for such favors, The elephant was strong, but unsure of its means. The giraffe was tall, but afraid of the carnivores, The lion was brave, but merciless in its actions, The rabbit was clever, but cunning to its masters, The tortoise was harmless, but slow in its endeavors, God had two mo...

Poetry: Police Torture

VICTIMS OF TORTURE!!! Why do policemen beat so indiscriminately and unprofessionally? Oh, defending themselves from peace loving unarmed civilians? Does it have to be in a manner of such terrible brutality? Rigging of elections, killing of civilians, beating demonstrators, suppressing of media, threats and extra judicial assassinations! Who will protect the innocent lot? Does it feel powerful to act in disregard of morality and law, Men, women and children always on the run, Feeling to the law some are above and some below, Who will come to the rescue of the ordinary Kenyan? How can a police loot in disguised name of searching? Beat, injure kill and go scot-free? Who will see the plight of children still crying? Restoring order-using firearms is one allegation they will never admit to see. Women and elderly are beaten live on camera, No wonder police recruitment is based on height, Colonization cases which are so gone an era! Behaving to satisfy your sa...

Poetry: Dear Friend....

Dear Friend, I've been startled by your generous action, Puzzled by your dedicated passion, Who ever thought that a real stranger, Could be the best friend ever? Who ever thought the most kind  deed, Would ever be of the sweetest kind? For a friend being awake? Isn't that priceless than risk? Or is there a better definition? Or is destiny close to destination? How on earth could one be ever forgotten? When favor and consideration have been given? The short journey has been lengthened by tension, Made lovely by hope and anticipation, There have been heartaches, Anxiety and roaming abandonments, But new friendship has conquered, A foundation of faith and trust have been established. In spite of some few lies at the start, And in spite of some abandonment at some point, I have credited you to be a good person, I will forever be indebted to you for your gifted action. I apologize for any wrong done, But I thank God your heart is not hard as st...

Poetry: Dumped on air!!!!!

Dumped on a National Radio Station!!! Ashley was doing her occasional laundry, It was just a normal day, But she felt so moody, But all this changed at Chris Lobby, When she noticed a ring and her mood changed suddenly. She knew Chris got it earlier that day, She had to call her friend Maggy, The rest of the time she was all happy, But a call came and she was all jumpy, It was from one of the popular Radios in the country. She knew she was a girl so lucky, The host asked her what was her fantasy, Especially on marriage proposal strategy, She was ready to give her utmost fantasy, And was thrilled to hear Chris was on the Radio already, An idea popped into her head quickly, That Chris was to propose to her and the witness was the whole country, She just sat because her legs were too shaky, And waited for the big moment eagerly, Her body was all sweaty. Happiness overtaken by her anxiety, She glared at the wall clock suddenly, And not...

Poetry: LOVE IS WORK: Its trust and understanding

LOVE IS WORK: Its trust and understanding Love is work, It’s not just a talk, One needs to act, That’s the fact, It’s quite a task, In form of a risk, Love is understanding, For love to be outstanding, Love needs lots of trust, For it to be at its best, Love needs communication, It's more than passion, Love is not attraction, It is not submission. Its trust and understanding, And when real love is growing, Challenges are part of the process, They determine the progress, Love makes us who we are, Beautiful smiles from the tender care, Love is work and that’s been sore, It involves mutual feelings that partners share.

Fading....

FADING When he composed that song, He thought of her for so long, She had been his strength, Her face lit in her truth. She was his first, She was worth all his trust. Then she became his everything, Promising a love everlasting, There was no contention nor doubt, It was all happiness in his heart, He called every other time, Even though the talk was just the same. They didn’t consider fights for solutions. A simple kiss would wipe their problems, They made serious promises, They never anticipated heartaches, He did not subject her to tears, She did not subject him to any worries. But everything has an end, A cloth will someday need to be mend, She didn’t understand her man, He failed to understand his woman, The passion became war, The ecstasy turned sour. They had made a terrible mistake, They fought against another mistake, The confusion took over, The toll was hard to recover, The gap grew wider and wider, Romanc...
