Christmas was approaching, and Dave and Michelle had made massive progress in mending their issues. They were happy and closer to each other than before. They planned to go to Dave's rural home for the Christmas holiday. Additionally, Michelle wanted to make a long road trip with her new toy; therefore, going to the rural home would be a blessing in disguise. They had made all the arrangements because they would stay until New year's celebrations were over.
On Christmas eve, they had an unexpected guest, Shanice, and her son. Shanice had seen on Michelle's social media handles that she would be doing a long drive with her new toy, and her followers had asked her to document the experience. She knew that the only very long drive she could speak of during the Christmas holiday would be to Dave's home, which was at the end of the country. The end of the year was approaching; Dave had ignored her threat, and she had not figured out how to proceed.
"Today is the day Michelle will learn about me!" She said, packing a few clothes into her tiny travel bag.
"Dave will not go another day in the next year without his true family! When January starts, it will be his usual excuse to plead for me to wait for the school to close or for Michelle to finish her research. I can't wait for them to come back next year! Again, I can't enter the new year without Dave in our life!" She had muttered to herself.
When Shanice pulled up to Dave's house, Dave froze. He knew Shanice's car since he had purchased it using his crypto money. He knew Shanice's rage because he had witnessed it and knew it would go down in a few seconds. They had had a terrific time with Michelle, and things were different now that she was almost two months pregnant. They had decided to add another member to their family. It was evident that whenever Dave was nervous, scared about being discovered that he cheated, or afraid that Michelle would find out about Dickson, he made up something to appear more committed to his family. The other time, he proposed at the bus stop after impregnating a girl in the village. This time, at the 5-star hotel on the coast, being haunted by Shanice's words.
"End of the year," he had asked Michelle to get pregnant for him again.
"My love, we said we'd give our children a gap of five years; Mike is five years already. Let's make another prince or a princess this time," he had said, massaging Michelle's back.
Michelle hesitated, citing that she needed to defend her Ph.D. thesis before deciding to get pregnant. Dave was determined to break that resistance; he showered her with love, worshipped her, and even decided to buy her the jeep she constantly drooled over. That night, after the jeep gift, Michelle yielded.
"King Dave, it's time we made a princess, she said, removing her lingerie and throwing it at Dave.
After one sniff, ‘Dave’ was on, hard as a metal rod, and they made love without protection or pills. He had accomplished his mission.
"Hey Michelle, we are sorry for budging in like this; we were evicted from our house and had nowhere to go this night. My china business hasn't been doing well," she said to Michelle after being welcomed.
Michelle genuinely felt sorry for her; she was nice to Shanice and Dickson. She did not know about the cunning ways of her husband, and therefore, according to Shanice, it was not Michelle's fault. She came here to start a war, but with Michelle's innocent face and kindness, she was reduced to a child, swallowing her words, suppressing her fury, and cowering to the gentleness of Michelle.
"Oh darling, don't you worry, you can stay here. Let me give you something to eat," Michelle said, taking her luggage and showing her to the living room.
Dave was still glued to the bedroom window, where he had peeped after hearing a car hoot outside his house, to see Shanice pull over, still frozen and waiting for hell to break loose. He waited, but there were no shouts of Shanice, no heated arguments, only civilized chats and giggles in the living room. He decided to go downstairs and meet their 'night guest.'
"Hi Shanice," he greeted her.
"Hi," she responded, giving him an evil eye and suppressing the innate urge to pounce on him like a lion and devour him to death.
"Hey Love, Shanice will stay tonight and travel with us tomorrow for Christmas. We can't leave her alone here; besides, her home is close to yours, so they'll celebrate the birth of Christ with their family as well," Michelle briefed Dave.
These words cut Shanice deeply, she felt the urge to correct Michelle, tell her politely that she was home, that this was her rightful place, but she couldn't.
"Oh, what happened? Is something the matter?" He asked, knowing very well Shanice was not evicted.
"I'm afraid we were evicted today; we had nowhere to go tonight," Said Shanice giving him the same evil eye.
He knew this was a ploy to ruin his marriage, but it wasn't the end of the year yet, the time she had promised to rein havoc if he hadn't gotten together with her.
Dave knew he had a grace period of about six days to figure out what to do, but Shanice was already in his house with a bag and a son. He had also paid her house rent for the entire year, as he had done the previous years. Again, he was caught off guard. He had thought he had entertained Shanice long enough, and it was time to stop all the drama. He couldn't send her out of his house even if he wanted. Shanice was not the person to retreat without a fight. Michelle was the legal wife, had sired him a son, was pregnant with another child, a perfect wife, and soft-spoken, and any drama of a baby sired outside their marriage would trigger stress and may cause her to have a miscarriage. She was not good at handling stress.
